The company started in 1971 as Gelre, working in the segment of security and money transportation. In 1979, its name changed to Protege. The company then had 6 cars and 20 employees in the city of São Paulo. What started as a small business became Grupo Protege, following the increasing demand of great urban centers. Today, it has 1,609 vehicles and 16,400 employees, in 13 Brazilian states and Distrito Federal.
