As a publicly traded company in Tokyo and New York stock exchanges, the company invoiced US$ 6.8 billion in 2010. On the whole, Sumitomo operates through six big business divisions ((Precision Machinery, Construction Machinery, Industrial Machinery, Ships and Environmental Facilities & Plants). In 2010, Sumitomo decided to build its first plant in Brazil, in Itu, to produce large-scale speed reducers for industries.
